The tale was first published in 1940 in the 2nd volume of the “Collection of Students' Scientific Works” of Yerevan State University, alongside M. Hakobyan’s article “The Life and Works of a Storyteller”.  The original manuscript is preserved at FA, M. Hakobyan Fund, FFI:8384—8402. The present edition is based on the manuscript version of the tale. Written by M. Hakobyan in the village of Atan, Alaverdi region, in August 1939. Narrator: Grandmother Yeghsum, 90 years old.
