New e-book: At the Gallows, Ilia Chavchavadze

On a country road in nineteenth-century Georgia, we encounter two orphaned brothers—Bejan and his younger brother. Their story reveals the consequences of poverty, injustice, and human indifference. A chance meeting with old Petre becomes an occasion for a clash between compassion and mistrust, raising the question of where personal guilt ends and society’s responsibility begins.
