First published in the collection “Armenian Folk Tales” (compiled and edited by A. Ghanalanyan, 1950, Yerevan). The original manuscript is preserved at FA, M. Hakobyan Fund, FFI։ 8404—8410. The present edition is based on the manuscript version of the tale. Written by M. Hakobyan in the village of Atan, Alaverdi region, in August 1939. Narrator: Grandmother Yeghsum, 90 years old.
